Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) belongs to the CCN family of secreted proteins associated with the Extracellular Matrix (ECM) and cell membrane. CTGF stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes, induces angiogenesis and promotes cell adhesion and migration. CTGF can bind to TGF-beta1 and BMP-4.
